TP-Link Integrates with Matter to Simplify the Future of Smart Home

September 15, 2022 – TP-Link, a leading global provider in the networking and smart home space, today announced support for Matter, a connectivity standard for seamless communication among IoT devices. By adopting this new standard, TP-Link continues to deliver on its adherence to providing users with simple, reliable and secure control of their smart homes. TP-Link’s Matter-compatible products are expected to be announced in late Q4 this year.

Matter is a new, open-source connectivity standard developed by over 200 companies worldwide, including Apple, Google, Amazon, Samsung and other Connectivity Standards Alliance (CSA) members. Built on a common goal of unifying the smart home ecosystem, Matter enables smart home devices and platforms from different manufacturers to work together seamlessly. Users will benefit from increased interoperability in setup, updates and control across IoT devices.

Thanks to our smart home brands, Tapo and Kasa, TP-Link will be one of the first companies to release Matter-certified offerings following the debut of the Matter protocol in late 2022. At least 10 Matter-compatible products across a broad range of categories, including plugs, switches, bulbs, and hubs, will be available by the end of this year. Tapo will also bring to market a new version of the Tapo App with support for Matter, allowing users to integrate all Matter-supported devices within one ecosystem.

TP-Link has been devoted to creating customer-centric, reliable and quality smart home products that provide users with secure, smart, and easy experiences. Sharing the same vision of simplifying connectivity as Matter, TP-Link's support for the new standard demonstrates its ongoing commitment to users' benefits.
